Panel Separation
Panel separation is caused by one side of the cover stalling while the cover is pulled into the extended position. If you attempt to pull the cover closed with one side stalled, the panels can come apart.
Reassemble the Panels
In order to put your panels back together you must remove them from the rails.
Put the cover assembly upside down on a surface that will protect the finish and allow you to work on it. To put the panels back together, you'll need to reconnect one side and then pry the opposite side back in. After doing this, you will need to measure the hinge gap and tighten as required.
Confirm Proper Rail Alignment
After reinstalling your panel assembly you will want to check to make sure your rails are level, aligned, and centered correctly to ensure your panels do not bind. This is essential to ensure that your panels do not separate again.
Please reference the Panel and Frame Adjustment video.
At time mark 1:38 you can see how to set the rails at the tailgate end by using the cover. You want the rails pulled in on each side until they come into contact with the rear long roller. Then measure to make sure the frame is centered at the tailgate while keeping the rails against the rear long rollers.
Check Ramp Alignment
After you have adjusted the rails in so you don't have a gap between your last roller and the inside portion of the rail you will need to adjust your ramps that the short rollers ride on.
Please review the video "Final Ramp Adjustment and Gas Spring Installation" for the final adjustment on your ramps.
