Each truck has three different editions available, and for some trucks, you have the option of the LimitedHDx. But how do the three different locks work and what do they look like?
The Classic Edition comes with a single bolt for locking. This still allows the cover to be secured and unable to be opened without being unlocked, and has the single bolt that reaches into the driver's side, as pictured below.
The Platinum Edition has a dual deadbolt locking system. In addition to the bolt that reaches into the driver's side, it also has a longer rod that reaches over to the passenger side for some extra added security. The cover still has only the one lock cylinder that locks and unlocks both bolts, as seen below. The LimitedHD Edition has this same locking mechanism.
The LimitedHDx is our newest generation of covers, and is available for select truck models. This one has a keyless dual action locking system. Rather than the lock cylinder and keys, this one uses two lock rods that are located underneath the cover. When you pull the lock rods back towards you, this locks and secures the cover. When you push the rods forward, this unlocks the cover and allows you to retract it. This one is also able to be secured in a partially opened position.
