Important Note: The information provided below is only needed for 2015 and newer Ford® F150 and 2017 and newer Ford® Super Duty LimtedHDx Edition covers. No modifications to a liner are needed if you ordered a Classic or Platinum Edition cover.
The Ford® F-150 and Ford® Super Duty plastic drop in bed liner along with other liners that do not fit the bed walls tightly will require heavy modifications. If your particular plastic liner fits your bed well and does not leave large gaps between the bed and liner then you may only need to modify your liner at the cab rail.
BoxLink™
The mounting brackets mount into the factory holes of the Ford® BoxLink™ system. The mounting brackets get mounted at each BoxLink™ location using the set of holes that are closest to the tailgate. Modifications to the liner are only needed at each location where the mounting brackets will attach. The following measurements are approximate and might be different for your liner due to variances in bed liners.
Cab Rail
The following photo will show what needs to be removed from the top cab rail portion of your liner. This modification is needed to allow room for our rail crosspiece to install. We highly recommend leaving about a 1/4" of the top inside lip of the liner. This will help keep the liner more rigid along the width of the cab rail.
The cab end of the liner will also need to be notched out of the inside edge of the liner on both the passenger and driver side.
